We often live in a False Self which we inherit from our birth family, community and society. It is a fear based response to life. Living in fear life ignores God's love and consequently we live in the sin.
The false self which is fuelled by fear often manifests itself through: racism, ageism, sexism, classism, hetrosexism, egoism, speciesism, materialism. tribalism, chauvinism ..... on and on. This fear and living in the false self damages and can kill our soul which is defined as discovering God's unique loving birth gift to us as individuals-our "True Self". We spend a lifetime discovering and nurturing our true-self which is our soul and is the Divine spark that lives within all people and lives beyond our life on earth.
Self-delusion often masks where we are in relationship to living our true self. Self-deception is a powerful source in our lives. The society in which we find ourselves supports this self-deception and blinds us to the call of God to discover our true self and nurture it.
The key to living in the true-self is awareness and a determination to live life in love. "We 'do unto other as we would have them do unto me".
Gradually we have the recognition and birthing of our "true self" This is a step to our Salvation.
