Paul reminded the people of Corinth and us that the church community is like a body. We all have a role as individuals but as a community we are equal in importance as we build community together. We each have gifts and a ministry.
In order to make this ministry effective, it is important to have a vision and a purpose. The Holy Spirit has gifted all of us. We spend time in our lives to find our strengths and gifts. We then see how we can apply this to the building of community. This is guided by developing an intentional purpose that acts like a spring board into our ministry. We allow the Holy Spirit to guide us.
Our ministry and purpose is not a static thing. We may have an understanding from years ago but today with maturity and new learning, our purpose for ministry will take on a new shape and direction.
