Sometimes we think that God is pleased if we use the Bible as a cookbook. St. Paul challenges this literal interpretation in his letter to the Galatians. Jesus challenges us in St. Luke to live our lives by looking ahead in our lives with Jesus beside us. If we look back and attempt to use the bible as a cookbook, we are practicing a weak faith. Paul challenges us to be strong in our faith by thinking for ourselves within the framework of love as we live our lives and relate to the world around us. The God of our faith must be strong and alive calling us to be involved with the world around us with insight, care, love and progressive courage.
