"You cannot serve God and Wealth" Luke 16:13. Throughout history greed and holding money has been ever a problem when it becomes central to a person's life. Jesus noted that in his own ministry 2000 years ago. It is still true today. It is our greed that is a part of why we are in the midst of a climate crisis. It is greed that is paralyzing the world's leaders from acting for the planet.
It is easier to make money the old way by exploiting the planet than think about putting new solutions into practice. Climate change demands that we move to a non-carbon economy. The election is on, call out the politicians who want your support. You might be favourable to one party philosophy over another. Never-the-less, call them out on their climate policy and demand action.
We must form coalitions with strangers and with folks whose philosophy or religion is not ours to work together to demand climate action and solutions to a problem that is not only threatening all our lives but the lives of other species on the planet. God calls us to serve God and be stewards of our planet and take a risk and turn away from security and a love of money. God is our master, not our money!
